In an effort to optimize the areas across the state in which we are open for new business, we have filed a rule change with the OIR in which we will be determining eligibility of a location based on Census Block Groups. This will enable us to minimize the need to close full zip codes and rather close specific smaller areas that do not meet our underwriting criteria.

As a result of this underwriting change, we have a few newly closed areas that will be in effect on May 8, 2025.

After this process goes live on May 8, the best way for you to check if a property is available for a People’s Trust Insurance policy is to input the property address into Slate.
